Every piece of fruit and veg is hand-checked the morning it arrives. We source locally in Canterbury wherever we can and turn stock over daily — so what you see on the shelf was picked or delivered within days, not weeks.
We work directly with South Island growers first, then broader New Zealand suppliers in the off-season.
If a fresh item isn't up to scratch — bruised, wilted, off — tell us within 2 days of purchase and we'll refund it or replace it.
Wherever possible, we source from New Zealand growers — including local Canterbury farms for seasonal fruit and vegetables.
If you're not 100% happy with any item from Eco Bay, bring it back or flag it on your order within 2 days and we'll refund or replace it — your choice. Fresh produce and chilled items don't need to be returned physically; a quick photo is enough.
Email ecobayfoods@gmail.com with your reciept number and a short note (a photo helps for damaged or spoiled items). We aim to respond within 24 hours and issue refunds the same day we approve them. Or come into our store to speak to one of our friendly staff.
Once approved, refunds are processed immediately. Depending on your bank, it can take 3–5 business days to show on your statement.
Yes. Change of mind is covered for unopened everyday grocery items within 14 days. Opened fresh or chilled items are handled under our Freshness Guarantee instead.
Items on clearance generally cannot be refunded
We're a small, hands-on team — most of our day is spent on the shop floor picking fresh orders, checking produce quality, and serving in-store customers. To make sure nothing gets missed, we handle all enquiries by email at ecobayfoods@gmail.com and reply within 24 hours (usually much sooner). That way every question gets a proper written answer rather than a rushed one between tasks.
